A   fundamental  and  felicitous  Ethical-Historical  Insight,   extracted   from   Post   299.

Westerners   and  Orthodox   have   become   habitual  oath-breakers   since  the  times   of   Constantine.    

I   choose    to   jump  here   the    historical   period   from     the  Julii/Augusti     to   Constantine   when  a    Pagan  Oath    was   somehow   imperfect.   

Writing  about  the  causes   of    this   curse/oath-breaking   requires  a   separate   study/analysis.     Oaths    have   since  Constantine's  days  become   increasingly    meaningless   and   unreliable.  Our   societies    are   riddled    with  MAFIAS   the  oath   of    whose  members    has  more  value   than   one  taken   by  a  Western   Citizen.    

However,   in  Australia  and   some  English-speaking  nations  to-day  one  swears  by  God  and  Queen    the  latter   having   in  the  British  System  continuity  (  pay  heed  to  this   fundamental  please ) with  King  David (  or   whoever  David  is  the   scriptural    symbol   of [ See  John  Romer's   book  "  Testament ",  The  Bible   and  History,   ABC]  )  and  the  great Constantine..............tomorrow   we  shall   do   so   by   the   President,   like  a   banana   Republic    without   Tradition,   Honour  or  Creed.
